Operations Manager, Older Adults, NASC and Community Services

We are looking for an exceptional Operations Manager who can thrive in a complex and challenging environment, supporting and enabling the inpatient, outpatient and community services within the portfolio to deliver equitable and excellent outcomes.

A core focus of the role is to develop, facilitate and lead service delivery and provide the highest quality older adults and community services ensuring they are built on the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Pae Tata.

You will be an innovative, relational and results focused person with the ability to view your services strategically, work within a complex, adaptive system with resilience, and support your teams ( who are in multiple locations across the Waitematā District) to thrive.

Reporting to the General Manager, Speciality Medicine and Health of Older People, you will work in partnership with the Medical Head of Division, Associate Director of Nursing, Allied Health leadership and the Clinical Director for Older Adults.

You will use data to inform your planning and decision making and have a keen eye for assessing the current state of your services with respect to future opportunities. You will be able to communicate well in all forms to convey key messages and concepts.

It will be essential for you to have experience at an operational management level within healthcare with demonstrated success in leading teams, building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and networks and enhancing workplace culture.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Operational management of our Older Adults and Community Service (including Gerontology Nursing, NASC service, Ostomy and Continence service, District Nursing service , a community administration team, and our Hospital in the Home (HiTH) service
  • To partner effectively with the Clinical Director for Older Adults and HiTH
  • To support your direct reports to ensure that the services in your portfolio consistently deliver high quality, equitable and cost effective care for our patients
  • To support your staff to develop and deliver on service plans
  • In conjunction with the General Manager and Head of Division, to investigate and develop operational models of care for your portfolio that will take your services forward and steward well the resources available
  • To deliver on the financial accountabilities of your services
  • To ensure the achievement of performance targets and indicators
