Do you have experience in Administration and Customer Service?  - If so, we are looking for an experienced Ward Clerk to join the team. 

About the team

The Special Care Baby Unit at North Shore Hospital is a 12 bed Level 2 Unit that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks, and as small as 1500g, who require neonatal support.

Our SCBU team is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment. About the role

This is a part time position to work Monday – Friday 72hours per fortnight. 

Ward Clerks have great variety in their working day so you should be able to thrive on the fast pace and varied duties that this job promises.  This role is the pulse of the ward.

A Ward Clerk divides their time between the set administration tasks and reception duties both telephone and patient family face to face including a support role in making arrangements for patients.  You will also have admin support responsibilities to the Charge Nurse Manager. 

About you

It is essential that you have:

  • Previous administration experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong customer focus
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work well with people and in a team
  • Self-motivated
  • Accurate computer and data entry skills
  • Knowledge of hospital information systems would be advantageous

This role is covered by the PSA National Health Administration Workers Collective Agreement and is mapped to role profile 3C.
