Waitematā District have an excellent opportunity available for a registered Consultant Health or Clinical psychologist to join our Cancer Support team: Psychology and Social Work who has significant experience in working with cancer patients or within a physical health setting. 

The role of the Principal Psychologist involves providing effective and dynamic clinical and professional leadership for Clinical/Health Psychologists and Psychology Interns to improve the experience of cancer patients, their family and whānau by delivering evidence based assessments and interventions.

Alongside leadership you will be providing high quality psychological services to complex cancer patients, including assessment and intervention, across the pathway. 

Based at North Shore Hospital, we work across all tumour streams, in both surgical and medical specialities. We work in both inpatient and outpatient settings which also include clinics at Hibiscus coast and West Auckland. We work closely with other MDT members as well as with many of the cancer NGO’s. 

We would therefore love to hear from consultant psychologists who are looking for an opportunity to develop their leadership skills, provide consultancy to the wider team and promote professional development.

 
Key requirements:
• Registered with the NZ Psychologist Board (NZPB) with a current practicing certificate
• Extensive experience working in physical health
• Comprehensive psychological assessment and treatment skills
• The ability to work with a wide variety of clients including those from various cultural/ethnic backgrounds
