Medical Laboratory Scientist, Part Time , 64 hours p/f, (08FTE) , North Shore, Auckland

  • Part time permanent role - 64 hours per fortnight
Waitemata District Health Board is committed to providing best care for everyone with continuing excellence in healthcare.
The laboratory operates a 24/7 service across both North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital.
We are looking for a medical laboratory scientist to join our Biochemistry department.
Ideal candidates will have 3-5years experience in Biochemistry, preferably in a hospital laboratory. 
The successful candidate must be willing to train and work in both Biochemistry and Microbiology. Participation in a 24/7 multiskilled (Biochemistry and Microbiology) roster is a requirement, once training is completed.
Expereince in Microbiology, Moelcular or Immunology would be an advantage.
You will need to be a team player, well organised and able to manage the demands of competing priorities in a busy hospital laboratory environment.
 The applicant must have:
  • A current annual practising certificate and current registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council or eligibility to register with the Council.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A positive and flexible approach to shift work.
