Community Alcohol and Drug Service (CADS), is the largest Alcohol and Drug Service in New Zealand. It is a regional service covering the greater Auckland area and provides a range of specialist addiction services.


Services are provided from a number of locations across Auckland and operate in close partnership with alcohol and drug service providers for Māori and Pacific peoples and other addiction and mental health service providers operating in the wider Auckland Metro region.


We are seeking an Addiction or Adult Psychiatrist, General Practitioner or Medical Officer to join our team, working full time however part time hours will be considered. This position will largely be based in our opioid treatment service (AOTS), based primarily at Pitman House, Point Chevalier or in the CADS regional units. As well as AOTS, CADS provides specialist counselling services; medically managed withdrawal; youth specialist programmes; dual diagnosis programmes; pregnancy & parental programmes; treatment for those at the interface with criminal justice etc. and you are likely to also be involved in service delivery in these teams and areas. You will also have the opportunity to be part of an addiction specialist training programme.
