Community Dentist,  Maternal Oral Health Project
Fixed Term, Full Time

Pt England, Tamaki, Auckland Regional Dental Service

Waitematā District Health Board

Pregnancy can increase the risk of poor oral health in women and poor maternal oral health contributes to pregnancy complications such as prematurity and low birth weight.  A mother’s oral health, strongly influences the oral health of her infant.

ARDS have a wonderful opportunity to implement the Maternal Oral Health service for pregnant women in Tamaki / Glen Innes.  These roles are fixed term for approximately 1 year and will be based at the Pt. England ARDS clinic (C3).

We are currently looking for a Community Dentist to join New Zealand’s largest dental service as part of the Maternal Oral Health Project focused on providing comprehensive oral health care for pregnant women.

For internal candidates, we are willing to consider a secondment arrangement, where you can work in the advertised role for the duration of the project and return to your current role at the completion of the project.

You will need to have a Bachelor of Dentistry or equivalent qualification, be registered with the Dental Council of NZ and a minimum of 3 years’ work experience. You will need a valid annual practicing certificate.

Dentists with experience in community dentistry and/or work experience in hospital/community based clinic would be preferred.
