The Respiratory Physiology department at WDHB is a rapidly developing service with an enthusiastic team focused on contributing positively to the respiratory health of the WDHB population. At present the team is based at North Shore Hospital with regular clinics at Waitakere Hospital with further expansion of the service planned in the future.
As a Respiratory Physiologist at WDHB you will be involved with advanced lung function testing as well as assessment and follow-up of patients requiring home oxygen therapy.
Applicants will ideally hold the Certificate of Respiratory Function Science through the ANZ Society of Respiratory Science and meet the requirements for registration with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board however full training can be provided for candidates who are currently working towards these who have relevant experience in a pulmonary function laboratory.
We also invite submissions from applicants for who do not hold the aforementioned qualifications to be considered for a trainee position. For this, you will have a relevant Bachelor of Science Degree with (ideally) a major in Physiology or other human science. You will also need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an understanding of relevant technology. Clinical experience is desirable.
