The Auckland Regional Dental Service (ARDS) provides oral health and dental services to approximately 280,000 preschool and school aged children, up to and including school year eight students, living across metropolitan Auckland.   

The service is operated by Waitematā DHB and is committed to improving oral health outcomes across the region.
Waitematā DHB’s purpose is built on seeking continuous improvement, along with the core belief that everyone matters.
With this in mind, we are seeking applications from Community Dentists who are values driven, people focused, action focused and who can naturally work well  in partnership to achieve results and better outcomes. The role is instrumental in further developing the delivery of high quality, accessible and effective oral health care to children.
As Clinical Director you will be responsible for leading clinical governance process within the service and providing strategic direction and vision to support the development of the service. 
You will also work closely with the Operations Manager and Professional Leader for Oral Health/Dental Therapy focusing on ongoing quality and service development projects. 
The clinical work for this position would involve participation in our dental clinics as well as participation in the on call roster across the region.

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, experienced Community Dentist with clinical experience within a public health setting, along with proven management and strategic expertise. The preferred candidate will be a strong advocate for Oral Health, have excellent communication skills and a focus on quality outcomes, including engagement with secondary care providers.   A public health qualification is desirable.
